The Mexican National Committee of the International Hydrological Programme (CONAMEXPHI) is a long-term phase-designed intergovernmental programme. It is focused on the scientific and educational aspects of hydrology and water resources management, based on its interdisciplinary and intersectoral approach.
It executes its commitments with the UNESCO Regional Office through symposia, workshops, publications and projects, where hydrologists of the Latin America and the Caribbean region carry out their activities.
The Mexican National Committee for the UNESCO-International Hydrological Programme (CONALMEXPHI) changed its organisational structure as of 1 February 2014.
Since that date, the National Water Commission (Conagua) assumed the Chairmanship of the Committee in the person of Dr. David Korenfeld
Conagua’s participation in this important international body is aligned with its international cooperation strategy as set out in the 6th objective in the National Water Programme (PNH) 2013-2018, related to the Mexican water sector’s involvement and consolidation in the international policy dialogue on water.
